Visiting Mom......having fun....

Tom and I went to see Mom today at American House. She was eating with three men in the dining room. We walked up and sat with her. She was finishing her apple sauce and cake. Mom got up and gave Tom and I  a  big hug and was so happy to see us. Then in Armenian she said the three men at her table had some issues of being crazy. We ignored her and she kept asking questions about the family. In  about twenty minutes Mom stood up and told the three men that she was leaving and that it was not fun eating with them because they were very old. The three men just kept eating, and did not look at her.Thank goodness all three of them had hearing issues.

Seeing the rain had stopped and the sun was out we then went for a walk around to the patio and sat. Mom loves flowers, and keeps talking about her garden she once had.Mom loves sitting at the patio area because of all the flowers and birds flying by. She loves roses and any yellow flowers. It started to get chilly so we went inside and a game was being started in the main area. Mom could not wait to play the game. It was so funny to see her interact and play a game with the others.  We would of thought the game was very silly , but these wonderful oldies thought the game  was awesome.   We sat there watching Mom and all her friends having such a ball. I threw her a big kiss goodbye after taking the following photos of her.

She loves having all the attention on herself and yes she loves having her picture taken.
She loves making friends, and loves helping everyone. She is also very Huggable, my students and teacher friends will know what that means.

Mom does get into this thinking mode. I try and wonder what is she thinking about. I let her be.
She has something to say right now, but she told me she can't remember what it was.

Here she is waiting for them to serve her dinner at the dining room. She told us that she was not hungry, but she came because I kept bugging her that she has to eat.

A couple of the photos of Mom I had taken was just her starring. I have looked at those photos wondering what she was thinking about. Her smile during those photos were gone, and she seemed to be somewhere else. A month ago I was so worried that by moving her to American House she would get more angrier and very sad, but it seems like it was the right decision. Mom has more smiles on her face, and making a lot of friends. She seems happy, and she still remembers our names. At times, she will ask me where her other daughter is, and I will explain she only has me. I feel at peace now when I go to sleep that Mom is safe, and I know my Dad is happy too.
