A Visit to Henry Ford's Estate

It has been awhile since I have been on my blog regarding Mom. We have had our ups and downs with mom, but somehow God has given us the strength to be able to deal each with her. Today, she had to go to the dentist because she had two cavities. We were all so nervous how she would be able to deal with the procedure. Kris went with her because she is used to having him with her at the dentist. The procedure did not take long and supposedly Dr. Ed did not have to numb her mouth. I still can't understand how he did it, unless he decided the cavities were small and could wait for awhile. Kris asked him how everything turned out and he said fine. Before we picked her up, she was crabby with me. To tell you the truth she is always crabby with me. I am not her favorite child.... my brother is. When we got to her apartment to pick her up for the dentist, she continued asking where my brother was. It got so bad I just had her call him, hoping she would understand that he was not coming to take her to the dentist. Knowing this, Mom got more crabbier with me. After the dentist we took her to the Henry Ford historic home to see his house, and his garden of beautiful flowers. She loved it and kept telling us all that she had been there with her husband and father.  We never told her she was wrong, we just continued having her feel that she had been there with two important people that she loved so long ago. After the walk and her adventure through the property,  Mom left with her own memories.

We then took her to her favorite place to eat Moro's in Allen Park. She loves eating there, and its one of her favorite places to eat. She feels comfortable there and she knows everyone that works there. She asked Marc the waiter what should she order and he told her to order the dinner that she usually gets most of the time when she comes. Wow... when she got her dinner and had one bite, dinner went down the drain for all of us. She complained how her meal was horrible. We all tried to have her take one of our meals and nothing made her happy. From that moment we knew we would not stop at her favorite place, Krispy Kreme Donuts. We took her straight home, and she could not wait until we left. Mom did not realize we couldn't wait to leave either. Tomorrow is another day, and I hope Mom has a better day for all of us.

This is Henry's Ford's Estate, and Mom wanted to know if she every was inside of the house.

I picked some flowers from Henry Ford's Estate, and I know I was not supposed to pick their flowers. Check out her face, she loved the flowers.

Mom kept knocking on Henry's door, and she was hoping someone would open the door and let her in.

She kept peeking in the door window hoping she would see someone walking down the dark hallway to answer the door.

There was a very small house on the property that Henry Ford had built for children to go into during the State Fair.

Mom was getting upset because once again the door was locked, and she could not venture in.

Mom loved the rush the water from the dam.

Mom kept turning around and checking everything out. She was very interested to see where Henry lived once.

She kept asking many questions, and if she did not like the answers she would get a little annoyed. She wanted everyone to know that she had the facts right about Henry.

Kristofer kept making sure Mom would not fall, and kept trying to make her laugh. He was hoping she would stop being crabby and start relaxing and have some fun.
